ABOUT

ABOUT MARC

Marc is a Berlin based art director, photographer, retoucher and web designer. He has a penchant for minimalistic and reduced design. He also has an affinity for clean and moody lighting and willingly spends lots of hours in meticulous postproduction with Adobe Photoshop and AI tools to create images that have a certain hyper reality to them.

SPECIALIZED IN

EVERYTHING…

….everywhere all at once – seems at first like a hyperbole – but then again it is kind of true. Marc was once asked in an interview by his client Fiverr if he sees himself as a »generalist« or a »specialist« and he would struggle with his answer because he sees himself as a generalist who is kind of specialized in everything. He tries to avoid being boxed into one profession admitting he has always had many irons in the fire because he tends to get bored by always doing the same kind of things.

What serves him well in his day-to-day creative undertakings is his background first as a lighting technician, then later as commercial director and sometimes even as a visual effects artist (e.g. for the streaming show »Blackout« with Moritz Bleibtreu & Jessica Schwarz) and generally a computer nerd who sometimes writes his own CSS code for websites he designs for clients.

With his extensive knowledge and experience in film and photography lighting he can set up a big sets with 10 strobes or more but is also more than happy to operate with just one simple depron/polystyrene reflector when the circumstances call for it.

Once the photography is done he »harry potters« his way through postproduction with his favorite wizardry apps like Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, sometimes After Effects and recently some AI tools that he included in his digital toolkit. He also delivers websites for small business owners and creatives along the way with his tool of choice: Squarespace. Because it is hard to pin him down on one creative endeavour one could say he is truly specialized in everything.
